She took our dated, builder-grade, 80s tract home and transformed it into a chic, urban-rustic space that makes everyone’s jaw drop when they enter. Gone are the silverware drawers that fell out when they were opened; soft close drawers with custom inserts perfect for our flatware and accoutrements have replaced them. Gone are the puny brick fireplace surrounds; custom concrete and cutting edge wavy tile have taken their place. Gone is the embarrassingly ugly guest bath we hoped no one would ever need to use; wood ceramic tile run horizontally on the wall, a pebble floor and a custom concrete ramp sink now wow our guests. We nudge all our guests to use the restroom whether they need to or not!Kelly worked tirelessly on our home remodel for over 8 months. Every single day my husband and I would say that we were so glad we hired her. At the very beginning she gave us a design that met and exceeded all our needs and wants. She produced drawings so realistic that the final result eerily matched. In the months that followed the design stage she walked us through every step of the process. She shopped with me for tile and windows and even reclaimed wood. She face timed me at the slab yard. She sent emails late at night when she thought of an important detail. She promptly answered and sent thousands of texts and emails. She met with each trades-person to review the job; I’m pretty sure she wore out a path between her office and our house!
I learned pretty quickly that contractors and the trades are wary of designers having met too many that do not know what they are doing. However, Kelly quickly won them over. With her construction background she was able to talk the language and proved many times over that her design was smart and innovative. Her ubiquitous tape measure was constantly whipped out while she crunched numbers. Her attention to detail saved us time and money.
Kelly brought a level of trustworthiness, professionalism and zeal for the job that surpassed all expectations. She made an admittedly ambitious and grueling process run like clockwork.
